Our favourite islet in the Ionian: relaxing with hiking, diving, fishing and enjoying the view from the cafe in the wind mill. Tiny streets in the village which has started to attract some hopefull young people, taverns with fresh fish and numerous small and isolated beaches for a magical night on anchor. Morning coffee with freshly baked cake or relaxed cocktails and stars watching will offer you unforgettable memories from our loved cafe at the windmills.
North Kastos
The beach of S. Aimilianos lies in the north of islet Kastos with tirquaz waters, sand and natural sun protection. In this area of the islet existed the old village of Kastos until 1800s and you can still see the remainings of these buildings. At the end of the beach fresh water sources can be found while Fokotripa (seal hole) which lies close to the rocks is a small cave 30 meters deep and a tiny beach inside! It used to host a seal.. After exploring the waters diving, it is worth walking north to meet the olive yard with very old trees, named Halkierim. Here you will see the price an olive tree has to pay to grow that old; the main body of the tree shows its age and other information which we will learn on the spot! You can also hike on a path by the beach south west to the main port of the islet without any altitude differences for 4 km. It is a path we always walk to get closer with the pure nature of our favorite islet!
